It's not every day you have a bride like Julia. Her wedding was great! Dave and Julia are not they shy type at all and really worked it in front of the camera. I was also excited to shoot this wedding because I got a chance to work with some of Oregon's top wedding vendors. Nicole Wagner, is a hair and make up genius, and Ryan Hein is a great guy and an awesome DJ. We started the day at Brooks Hill Historic Church for an intimate ceremony, and then finished up at the Scappoose Creek Inn. Great wedding. Great Day. (and the Ducks won at Michigan!)

Actually it's kind of funny because when I first met with Julia I was also just finding out about theknot.com. I instantly became a daily visitor. I thought it was amazing how this online-sisterhood shared so much great advice with each other. Then people started posting about me on the knot, and I REALLY got addicted. Now I check in every few days but I still find it fascinating. However I've set a few rules for myself that "lurking vendors", as they are refered to on the knot, should always follow.
1. NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD A VENDOR POST ON THE FORUMS!!! The knot is for brides to share information. If a vendor wants to learn more about their market it's ok to observe, but not participate. Like your mom always told you, "Look, but don't touch."
2. Never piss a knottie(as theknot.com users call themselves) off. Knotties take their wedding planning seriously. If you are lucky enough to have one book you, do your very best work, and be prepared. (See blog entry below on that topic) I've found that knotties seem to see things in black and white. They love you or they hate you. If you're a wedding vendor, work your butt off and make sure they love you, because they will reward you with ample words of praise.(who doesn't like to hear that their work is appreciated?) If you do sub-par work, you'll hear about it, and so will everyone else.
3. BE YOURSELF AND BE HONEST!!! I don't think it's a good idea for anyone to try to be something that they're not. However, Knotties seem to have a sixth sense for when vendors are not being honest with them, so if you are a wedding vendor thinking about pulling a fast one, think again, because those girls can see it coming a mile away.
4. Have Fun! Knotties are open enough people to share the most important day of their life on an online public forum. That means they are pretty open people, so go with the flow, be personable and once again, be yourself!
